Reduced Climate Emissions
Sustainable Nitrogen with Lower Carbon Impact
NUE28 carries a lower upstream carbon footprint than conventional nitrogen fertilisers. An independent ISO 14067:2018 assessment by RSK ADAS found that NUE28 generates 0.854 kg CO₂e per kilogram of product at the factory gate. This figure includes emissions from raw material production and transport. It does not include emissions associated with field use.
For context, published life-cycle assessments for soil-applied nitrogen sources such as urea, UAN, and ammonium nitrate typically report 3–5 kg CO₂e per kilogram. This figure includes both manufacturing emissions and field losses.
While downstream emissions from NUE28 may still occur, its lower manufacturing footprint and foliar mode of application provide growers with a more efficient, lower-impact nitrogen option as part of an integrated nutrient management programme.
